US President-elect Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping had a phone call just days before Trump’s inauguration. Although Xi will not attend, vice president Han Zheng will represent China, marking a significant first. The Chinese foreign ministry emphasised the importance of a cooperative relationship between the nations. High-profile international leaders have also confirmed their attendance.
