Do MultiVersus Servers go Offline After Season 5?

(News Diaries)~ Yeah, it’s a bummer, right? MultiVersus has been a pretty popular game. However, it looks like the developers have decided to shut the servers down after Season 5. The game has a lot of potential, but it seems like they’re shifting focus elsewhere. Do you play MultiVersus or were you hoping to jump in before it went offline?

Season 5 will sadly be the last update for Player First Games’ free fighting game MultiVersus. After this update, its online features will be unavailable.

Player First Games’ free fighting game has reached the end of the road. The MultiVersus servers are due to close. Season 5 will be its last update. It’s unclear as yet how this will affect the MultiVersus achievements. Either way, it’s sad news for one of the best free Xbox games.

MultiVersus to be delisted after Season 5

  • Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games have announced that Season 5 will be the last seasonal content update for the game
  • Season 5 will run from February 4 until May 30
  • Online features will be available until the end of Season 5, after which point the game will also be delisted

After careful consideration, the MultiVersus team has announced their next Season. It will serve as the final seasonal content update for the game. Season 5 will add DC’s Aquaman as a new playable character. Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny will also be added. Aquaman will be available via the Battle Pass as the first tier reward. Lola will be the daily calendar login reward.

The devs say “You’ll need to install the latest version of the game. Download it and log in during Season 5. This can be done any time between February 4 at 9 a.m. PST and May 30 at 9 a.m. PST. After logging in, a local save file will be automatically created. It will be connected to your PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store account. This allows you to enjoy the game offline. All earned and purchased content will be available moving forward.”

The game will also be delisted after Season 5 ends. It’s unclear how many of the MultiVersus achievements, which all require a connection to live services, will be affected. You currently need around 25-30 hours to complete MultiVersus. It may be worth looking at other players who want to boost this game. Alternatively, you can create your own gaming session on True Achievements.

“We want to thank every player and person who has ever played or supported MultiVersus,” the team says. They express their gratitude. They add, “We will be forever grateful for the incredible support of the MultiVersus community throughout this journey.”

The devs say that “This decision was not made lightly. All of us on the Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games teams have put our heart and soul into MultiVersus. We created a unique social and cooperative experience from the ground up. It brings together a variety of popular characters and worlds. We are very proud of the game we’ve built. We are incredibly thankful for the support of the MultiVersus community throughout this journey. Your passion and enthusiasm have been unmatched.”

It’s been a bumpy road for MultiVersus, which disappeared for a year before re-launching out of Early Access last May. What do you make of this news? Let us know in the comments.
