JUST FOUND: OPENAI FUNDS AXIOS WHILE OUTLET BLASTS TRUMP….

Sam Altman’s OpenAI revealed as backer of Axios just as news outlet attacks Trump’s immigration policies on religious grounds.

📌 The three-year deal marks OpenAI’s first direct control of newsroom operations.So much for AI neutrality – looks like Altman’s checkbook and Axios’ headlines are perfectly aligned. Both companies claim “editorial independence”.

📌OpenAI has indeed funded a project that involves Axios, but it’s not a direct funding of the news outlet. Instead, OpenAI and Microsoft have announced a $10 million AI local news project operated by the Lenfest Institute, which includes five US metro news organizations, and Axios is one of the recipients of this funding .

This project aims to support local news outlets in using AI tools to improve their reporting and coverage. However, I couldn’t find any information that suggests OpenAI’s funding is directly related to Axios’ coverage of Trump.
